Taria Topan (Bark) Shipping Journal, 1886-1890.

The journal of the bark Taria Topan details a shipping voyage from Boston, MA to Zanzibar, Madagascar and back to Boston, Aug. 1886-Sept. 1890. Master and keeper was Edward B. Trumbull; the home port was Salem, MA; and the owners were Ropes Emmerton & Co. During its voyage, the Taria Topan spoke the ship Conqueror, the USS Enterprise, the schooners Francis Allyn (out of New London, CT) and Iceberg, the ship John Currier, the bark Kate Crosby (out of Belfast), and the bark W. B. Flint.
